SPANISH CURRENCY’S HEADLONG DIVE
LONDON INVESTORS FEAR BREAKDOWN. {United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, September 8. The City editor of the News-Chronicle says that Spanish currency made a headlong dive to-day from 46J to 60 pesetas to the £, due to growing fears that a prolonged civil war will cause a complete breakdown of the country’s finances. At the beginning of the war the peseta was 36J to the £>.
