BRITAIN AND RUSSIA
Naval Agreement Reached TERMS REVEALED TO OTHER COUNTRIES BENEFICIAL RESULTS EXPECTED (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10.20 p.m.) London, July 31. The naval correspondent of The Times says that Britain and Russia reached a naval agreement on the lines of the London Treaty. The terms of it were communicated to France, the United States, Italy, Germany, Poland and Japan. The understanding should facilitate a similar Anglo-German agreement for which negotiations have been progressing for months, and may also remove some of Japan’s hesitation in conforming to the new London Treaty. Thus it will be an important step towards bringing about an agreement among the principal naval Powers about qualitative limitation, thereby easing the burden of armaments throughout the 'world.
