POWER SCHEME
PUBLIC MEETING AT GORE. The ratepayers’ committee which is organizing the circulation of a petition asking the Government to take over the assets and liabilities of the Southland Electric Power Board reports that it is carrying on its work vigorously. Mr W. J. A. McGregor, of Mount Linton, has handed £5 to the committee for the petition fund. The committee gratefully acknowledges his gift. A public meeting will be held in the Princess Theatre, Gore, to-morrow afternoon at 2.30 when brief addresses will be given on the question and organizing details will be discussed.
