BIG GAME FISHING

ZANE GREY EXTOLS GREAT BARRIER REEF. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10.15 p.m.) Sydney, July 30. Mr Zane Grey, who returned to-day from Great Barrier Reef, declared that the finest fishing in the world was obtainable along the Australian coast. He intends to return to Australia in 1938, when he will go after monster white sharks. He stated that sharks up to 40ft long had been seen in Australian waters. “I am confident that there are sharks of from 80ft to 100 ft,” said Mr Zane Grey. “When I return I shall have to use steel cables and chains, and bait with sharks from 10ft to 15ft in 2500 fathoms of water outside the Barrier Reef, which is a place of marvellous potentialities.”
