SHIELD MATCH

THE ACCOMMODATION PROBLEM

As the question of accommodation in Dunedin on the occasion of the OtagoSouthland Rugby match for the Ranfurly Shield on August 1 and the pipe bands’ display on August 2 has occasioned some concern, the Mayor of Dunedin has made arrangements to solve the difficulty. He asks that those who find difficulty in booking accommodation at the hotels and boarding houses should communicate with Mr J. S. Douglas, T. and G. Building, Princes street, who will endeavour to secure accommodation in private houses. Visitors are requested to state their requirements as to full board or bed and breakfast only. The Mayor has also appealed to private citizens who are prepared to accept paying guests to furnish particulars of accommodation available and charges to Mr Douglas. The Management Committee of the Otago Rugby Union has decided to start the match at 3 o’clock.
