All the indications are for a crowded house to-night for the operetta “Princess Chrysanthemum,” to be presented by the Technical College pupils. The conductor and the producer have been well pleased with the final rehearsals, and fully expect their “trainees” to acquit themselves with credit. Several of the principals are possessed of much more than average ability, and all are trained up to the minute. The chorus is strong and well-balanced; sprites and fairies and ballet can be relied on to do their parts. In movement and colour the operetta should be a really notable spectacle. In recent years some remarkably successful plays and concerts have been presented by the college pupils in their own assembly hall; the present venture in taking the Civic Theatre seems amply justified by promise of a large audience. The performance will not be broadcast.
