JAPANESE OFFICER EXECUTED

MURDER OF MILITARY CHIEF. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Tokyo, July 3. According to the sentence of the court-martial, Lieutenant-Colonel Suburo Aizwa was shot at dawn for murdering General Nagata at the War Office on August 12 last year. Major-General Nagata, Director of Military Affairs, died on August 12 as the result of an attack made upon him by a lieutenant-colonel on his stall, who. after a heated argument, drew his sword and cut him down. It is believed that the dispute arose over Major-General Nagata’s report on the policy of General Hayashi, Minister of War. about the extreme nationalist feeling in certain sections of the Army. MajorGeneral Nagata was assassinated in his own room at the War Office and Colonel Limi was seriously wounded in attempting to protect his chief.
