“WHY GO TO PARIS?”
HART-O’BRIAN COMPANY’S REVUE. SEASON ENDS TO-NIGHT. The Hart-O’Brian Vaudeville Company continued on its happy way at the Civic Theatre last evening, when “Why Go To Paris?” was again applauded by a large audience. Ably led by Frank O’Brian, this company seems to have realized that speed and spontaneity are the essentials of a _ smart show, and there are no annoying pauses in any of their programmes. One of the features of “Why Go To Paris?” is the fan dance by Mademoiselle Desiree. This tall, dark young woman brings grace and rythm to the stage, while her manipulation of the fan is as clever as it is artistic. Other outstanding numbers are the “Ballet of Flags,” a presentation featuring Janice Hart and her ballet, which cleverly combined spectacle with grace _ and precision Desiree and Montigue s burlesque of old-time dances; a novel and sensational dance creation by The Orlandos; The Velescos in a new act, “Parade of the Laces”; a spectacular number presenting beautiful Parisian frocks, “Night and Day”; “The Blue Danube,” a magnificent musical number. A special matinee of “Why Go To Paris?” will be held this afternoon, and the season will conclude to-night.
