OBITUARY

THE REV. FATHER HERRING. NEW ZEALAND' PRIEST. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) Sydney, June 16. The death is announced of the Rev. Father Joseph Herring, at the age of 53 years. He collapsed while taking part in the Corpus Christi probession at Manly. Educated at St. Patrick’s College, Wellington, Father Herring was ordained by the late Archbishop Redwood in 1909 and did parish work in Wellington, Reefton and Whangarei. MR J. O. JAMESON. (United Press Association.) Christchurch, June 16. The death occurred suddenly to-day of Mr John Owen Jameson, aged 60 years. He was formerly a member of the Stock Exchange for 25 years. Mr Jameson dropped dead when boarding a tramcar in Seaview road, New Brighton, this afternoon. Last year he had a severe illness, from which he had not completely recovered.
