RECORDS ECLIPSED

DAIRYING SEASON IN WAIKATO. (United Press Association.) Hamilton, June 13. Returns now available covering the company’s total production during the past season show that all previous records of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company have been eclipsed, the increased butter production amounting to 541) tons at the company’s 16 butter factories. The outputs ranged from 1000 tons at Ngongotaha to 6385 tons at Waharoa, while at 18 cheese factories the quantities manufactured varied from 288 tons to 1029. The output of butter at Waharoa represented an increase of 21 per cent., while at the other factories substantial increases were recorded, An increased overseas demand resulted in a substantially increased output of casein, while the greater output of milk powder was being quickly absorbed by overseas markets. It had been decided by the company on account of improved conditions on the United Kingdom market to make an advance of 1/- per pound butter-fat and 1/14 butter-fat for cheese. The output of the other Waikato cooperative and proprietary company also increased substantially, being a reflection of the exceptionally good dairy season experienced in the Waikato.
