A half-caste Samoan stowaway on the Aorangi, Pila Wilkes, a seaman, aged 20, pleaded guilty in the Auckland Police Court to a charge of being a prohibited immigrant and landing in New Zealand without a permit. The police said he stowed away to Vancouver and was placed on the Aorangi, but the Fijian authorities would not allow him to land and he was continuing the voyage to Sydney when he left the vessel at Auckland. The Magistrate issued a deportation order.—Press Association.
