Ohai Notes

A party was recently held at the residence of Mrs S. Giles, the object being to raise funds for the Blue Princess, Miss May Nesbit. A happy programme was made up of musical items, dancing, games and competitions. A party organized by the White Princess Committee was held at the home of Mrs G. Johnstone, to raise funds for its princess, Miss Babara Wilson. Some thirty guests were entertained at dancing, games, competitions and community singing. An item was given by Mr W. Sheehan. The annual plain and fancy dress dance of the R.A.0.8. Lodge took place in the Ohai Public Hall on Friday, the function was well attended, there being visitors from most of the surrounding districts. The hall had been decorated for the occasion with streamers and greenery. The Syncopators’ Orchestra was in attendance and Mr F. G. Edwards was master of ceremonies. Prizes for fancy dresses were awarded to the following: Best ladies’ costume, Miss I. Welsh; best men’s costume, Mr M. Sheehan 1, Mr H. Dixon 2, and Mr G. Taylor 3. The lucky spot waltz was won by Miss Phyllis Wilson and her partner.
