NAHAS PASHA’S WISH FOR AGREEMENT.

(Rec. 7.30 p.m.) Cairo, May 23. The Prime Minister (Nahas Pasha) read the Speech from the Throne at the opening of Parliament, announcing that the Anglo-Egyptian conversations were proceeding with serenity and cordiality. He hoped that they would produce an honourable agreement, embodying Egyptian independence and tightening up Anglo-Egyptian friendship and alliance.
