NEW ZEALAND WORKERS’ UNION

IMPORTANT CONFERENCE OPENS. (United Press Association.) Wellington, May 20. Delegates from both Islands are attending the twentieth annual conference of the New Zealand Workers’ Union, which was opened in the Trades Hall, Wellington, to-day by the Hon. R. Semple. The conference, which will continue for a week, will be the most important in the history of the organization and will have numerous important matters to deal with concerning drafting claims for the many activities it covers in the agricultural and pastoral industries. The greater part of to-day was occupied in discussing routine business and the setting up of committees. The most important decision reached was that of affiliating with the Labour Party, the decision being made unanimously.
