“DISGRACE OF DR. ECKENER
GERMAN PRESS BAN CONTINUED (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.35 p.m.) London, April 6. The Berlin correspondent of The Times says that it is not surprising that Dr Hugo Eckener, from Rio de Janeiro, denies knowledge of his “disgrace,” for the instructions to the German Press not to mention him in connection with the Hindenburg’s transatlantic flight were given after the airship’s departure. The newspapers continue to ignore him, although it is rumoured that German correspondents aboard, ignorant of the ban, are sending cordial references to Dr Eckener, which do not appear.
