THURSDAY. (Before Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M.) Judgment by default was entered in favour of the plaintiffs in the following civil cases: A. Russell and Co., Ltd. v. Lee Hill (Dunedin) for 7/3 and costs 11/-; Gwen Gardiner v. Selma Kidston for £l3 and costs £2 14/-. An order in favour of the judgment creditor was made in the following judgment summons case: W. T. Peterson (Wiamatuku) v. F. T. V. Kingsland for £46 11/1 in default one month’s imprisonment. The warrant will be suspended if a payment of £5 a month is made. SITTING AT BLUFF. At a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court at Bluff before Messrs E. A. Nichol and J. H. Doyle, Justices of the Peace, a young man, Norman Cyril Hayward, was charged with drunkenness and using obscene language. He was convicted and discharged on the first charge and on the charge of using obscene language was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on within 12 months. He was also ordered to take out a prohibition order.
