SUPREME COURT

YESTERDAY’S SITTING. (Before his Honour Mr Justice Kennedy.) Eric Samuel Parker, o'f Dunedin, appeared for sentence in respect to having made false declarations under the Marriage Act in 1934. In reply to the usual question, the prisoner had nothing to say. The Crown Prosecutor (Mr H. J. Macalister), said he did not wish to address the Court. His Honour, addressing the prisoner, said it was impossible to deal with his offence by way of a fine, for he was at present serving a sentence of reformative detention in the Eorstal for forgery. He would be sentenced to detention for one month, that sentence to be concurrent with the sentence of one year he was at present serving. Decree Nisi Granted. A decree nisi, to be moved absolute after three months, was granted to Men Te Au (Mr J. C. Prain), who petitioned for a divorce from George David Te Au on the ground of statutory desertion. The petitioner was given the interim custody of the two children of the marriage.
