TORCH INADEQUATE
MOTOR CYC T IST’S DEATH. (Per United P.ess Association.) Wellington, February 15. “I am satisfied that the main cause of this accident was the deficiency of the motor cycle light which could not be seen by the motor driver,” said the Coroner, Mr R. Gilbertson, at the conclusion of the inquest on Colin Martin Fraser, aged 21, who died in hospital on December 21 after his motor cycle had collided with a car driven by Dr O’Regan on the Happy Valley road the previous night. “This thing," said the Coroner, holding up the torch which, according to the evidence, was the motor cycle’s only light, “almost invites disaster. I am satisfied the doctor was not to blame.”
