A baby seal attracted considerable attention on Spittai Beach recently. Mr John Thomson, a Berwick-on-Tweed cabinetmaker, put it back into the sea, but after swimming about a little, and seeing Mr Thomson going away, it came out and followed him up the beach. He took it home in a lorry, and his daughter has adopted it as a pet. Already the seal is taking milk from a baby’s bottle.
