LUMSDEN NOTES

WELCOME HOME SOCIAL. A welcome home was extended to Mr and Mrs W. G. Menlove when an enjoyable evening was spent in dancing. At a suitable interval Mr J. Challis on behalf of the Hockey, Swimming and Tennis Clubs presented Mr and Mrs Menlove with a crystal bowl with the best of wishes for future happiness. Mr Menlove suitably replied. The music for the function was supplied by Sutherland’s Orchestra. At the annual meeting of the library committee, Mr A. J. Heath presided. The balance sheet disclosed a credit of £4. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: Chairman, Mr T. Small; secretary, Miss D. Small; librarians, Miss M. Menzies and Mr G. Aitchison. A sub-committee was appointed to go into the matter of purchasing new books.
