STEADY INCREASE IN BRITAIN. (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 x p.m.) Rugby, February 13. The Board of Trade index of wholesale prices for January shows an increase in the average of 0.4 per cent, as compared with December and of 4 per cent, as compared with a year ago. This is the sixth successive month of increase, and the rise since July last is nearly 4.5 per cent. Food prices show an advance of only about 2 per cent., but the January index numbers for all articles and for industrial materials and manufactures are the highest recorded for any month since December' and November, 1930, respectively.
