LODGE REPORT

INDEPENDENT ORDER OF RECHABITES. The first meeting of the year of Murihiku Tent No. 27 was held in the U.F.S. Hall, Tay street, on Monday, January 6. Chief Ruler Bro. John D. Waddell presided over a good attendance of members. P.C.R. Bro. Irwin was appointed supporter to the Chief Ruler, while P.C.R. Bro. Fairburn was appointed supporter to the Deputy Ruler. Teams for the new members’ competition were appointed, being headed by the C.R. and the D.R. respectively. This competition is for a handsome shield generously given by an anonymous donor for a new membership campaign. A comprehensive scheme for the social activities of the tent was discussed and a good syllabus for the year drawn up. After the routine business was dealt with the tent duly closed, the members adjourning to the social hall where an enjoyable social hour was spent.
