FUTURE OF CYPRUS
NO CESSION TO GREECE. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.5 p.m.) New York, Dec. 25. The New York Times prints a denial from Athens of a persistent rumour that Britain intends to cede Cyprus to Greece. It is emphasized that the Sykes-Picot Treaty stipulates that French consent would be necessary; before such a step could be taken, the stipulation having been inserted as al measure for the defence of the Syrian coast against a possible unfriendly Power.
