Coming of Age Party

FUNCTION AT “WILANDA DOWNS.” Mr and Mrs William M. Kelly, of Nightcaps, gave a pleasant evening recently to celebrate the coming of age of their son, Eric, at the residence of Mr and Mrs J. C. Cook, “Wilanda Downs,” who gave the use of their spacious room for the occasion. Dancing was indulged in for the greater part of the evening, while songs were sung by Mr N. Kelly, Miss M. }£elly and Messrs E. and M. Sheehan. A' feature of the evening was the concertina solos given by Mr J. Harvey, of Invercargill. After supper Mr Kelly presented his son with the customary key after which the cake was cut and handed round. Speeches were made by Messrs E. Kelly, R. Heathcote, W. McColl, J. Thomson and M. Sheehan. Music for the dancing was supplied by Mr R. Robinson (accordion) and Mr J. Harvey (concertina), while Mr R. Heathcote carried out the duties of M.C. Those present were Mr and Mrs William M.
