MINING DISPUTE

MEETING OF REPRESENTATIVES. COLLIERY OWNERS AND MEN. (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Rugby, December 16. In connection with the dispute arising out of the demand by mine-work-ers for an increase in wages of 2/- a shift, the colliery owners have invited representatives of the Federation _of Mine-Workers to a meeting. The invitation has been accepted and the meeting, in which nine representatives of each side will take part, has been fixed for next Tuesday, December 17. The miners’ delegates to the conference are due to reassemble to consider the whole question on the following day.
