The Te Pegasus arrived at 7.15 a.m. yesterday with passengers from Stewart Island. The Tamatea returned to Bluff from Milford on Monday night. The Canadian Scottish is expected to reach Bluff this morning from Australia. The American steamer Golden Bear has sailed from San Francisco. She Is due at Auckland on December 27 and will complete discharge at Wellington and Australian ports. The cable steamer Recorder has sailed from Sydney to complete repairs to a cable in mid-Tasman. After completing the work the ship will return to Auckland. Advice has been received that an exceptionally large number of passengers have booked from Sydney to Auckland by the Matson Line steamer Monterey, which is due on December 17. Bookings are also fairly heavy for through passengers to America. The following appeared in the Glasgow Sunday Post of October 27:—The first of the keels of the two 11,000-ton New Zealand ships ordered from Messrs John Brown and Co., Clydebank, will be laid down on November 10. The keel of her sister ship was laid down a few days later. The ships will provide work for 1600 men for a year. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
