The Otautau Croquet Club sent a team in to play Rugby Park seniors on the latter’s lawns on Wednesday last, the home team having a substantial win. The following are the results, Rugby Park players being mentioned first:— Doubles—Mesdames Clark and Keen 26 beat Misses O’Brien and Campbell 17; Mesdames Leigh and Roberts 26 beat Mesdames Hall and Sinclair 13; Mesdames Robertson and Darroch 26 beat Mesdames Burns and White 15. Singles—Mrs Clark 26 beat Miss O’Brien 10; Mrs Robertson 26 beat Miss Campbell 17; Mrs Leigh 26 beat Mrs Hall 16; Mrs Roberts 4 lost to Mrs Sinclair 26; Mrs Keen 26 beat Mrs Burns 6; Mrs Darroch 26 beat Mrs White 12. Rugby Park 8 wins, Otautau 1. ROSE BOWL MATCH. SOUTHEND v. INVERCARGILL. A match between the junior teams of Southend and Invercargill clubs was played on the latter’s lawns, the home club winning by one game. The following are the results, Invercargill players being mentioned first:— Doubles—Mesdames Ronald and Tait 26 beat Miss Manson and Mrs Checketts 23; Mesdames Sutton and Ronald 26 beat Mesdames D. Strang and Brownlie 24; Mesdames Crofts and Watson 18 lost to Miss Boyce and Mrs Parfitt 26. Singles—Mrs Ronald 26 beat Miss Manson 16; Mrs Tait 10 lost to Mrs Checketts 26; Mrs Sutton 26 beat Mrs D. Strang 16; Mrs Jennings 15 lost to Mrs Brownlie 26; Mrs Crofts 26 beat Miss Boyce 23; Mrs Watson 11 lost to Mrs Parfitt 26. Invercargill 5 wins, Southend 4.
