SANDY McHAPPY’S CAMP COLUMN

Camp Proverbs. A week in camp’s worth two in quod. A stitch in time’s worth two in the side.

You may take Willie McTavish to the table, but you can’t make him leave it.

Situation Wanted.—Youth, 15, stout and strong, wants window-cleaning in camp, or any other position of trust. Canteen preferred. * * * *

Superior Lodgings for respectable youths. Bath and sea view; good ventilation. It’s the best holiday you can have. Apply Sandhills, Kaka Point or Camp Officer. * $ * »

Private McHappy says that all lodgings are not as lavish with the food as the quartermaster is in a 8.8. camp. He says that one day after a particularly small meal he was forced to object: “Haven’t you made a mistake?” he asked. “My name’s, Sandy, not Gandhi.”

World-Renowned Camp Mixture. Tire greatest discovery of this or any other century, past or future. Particularly recommended to campers not feeling up to the mark. Supplied by the Medical Officer. The following unsolicited testimonial is supplied by Private Brown: “Last night I was feeling very bad. I had lost my appetite after tea and had a nasty cig. in my mouth—l mean a nasty taste. The officers had given me up as hopeless when I took a dose of your unfailing remedy. I became a different chap and take this opportunity of thanking you.” Note.—This wonderful remedy may be obtained absolutely free from the M.O.
