GENERAL ASSEMBLY

PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. ANNUAL MEETING. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington, November 5. The annual meeting of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand opened to-night. Delegates were present from every Presbytery in the Dominion. An address was given by the retiring Moderator, the Rt. Rev. Principal John Dickie, in which he stressed the influence of Scotland through the traditions of the Presbyterian Church on religion, thought and life throughout the English-speaking world. He thanked his brethren in the ministry for their kindness and courtesy to him during his year of office.

The Rev. H. H. Barton was then installed as Moderator for 1935-36, and after a brief ceremony delivered his inaugural address. Formal business concluded the session.
