GREEK CABINET
ALLEGIANCE TO KING.
(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.)
Athens, November 4.
Members of the Cabinet formally took the oath of allegiance to King George, whose portrait hangs in all the schools.
REQUEST TO RETURN DELEGATION TO VISIT KING. (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 11.45 p.m.) London, November 5. The Athens correspondent of the Daily Mail says that a special delegation will go to London to-morrow to request King George to return to the throne. The Prime Minister, General Kondylis, states that he will resign immediately after the King’s arrival, but hopes to be entrusted with the formation of a new Cabinet, after which he will recommend the dissolution of the Assembly and a general election. Athens was illuminated last night. Demonstrations were staged and bands played. Everywhere the streets were crowded with excited Royalists singing and firing revolvers in the air. The exiled opposition leaders may shortly be allowed to return.
General Kondylis in a speech said: “A new era has opened. There are no more Greeks belonging to parties, but only the King’s united, faithful subjects.”
