POISONING ALLEGED
CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED MURDER. (Per United Press Association.) Oamaru, October 18. On September 12 a tragic discovery was made at the residence of George Fitzmaurice in Trent street. Fitzmaurice, who was employed at Hillgrove, left his home the previous Monday and on the following Thursday neighbours discovered Mrs Fitzmaurice in bed ill with her son James, aged seven months, dead in her arms and two other children in a weak state. To-day, before Justices, Cecily Fitzmaurice, aged 34, was charged that on September 10 she attempted to murder Nancy Eileen Fitzmaurice. She was remanded to appear in Dunedin on November 1. Other charges are probable. Poisoning is alleged.
