PRICES SLIGHTLY EASIER. (United Press Assn. —Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10.40 p.m.) Sydney, September 12. At the wool sales 12,525 bales were offered, and 11,068 sold, 657 being sold privately. Compared with the opening rates prices are now par to 5 per cent, lower for all the best fleece and skirtings and 5 to 10 per cent, lower for good to average lots, also 10 per cent, lower for inferior descriptions. Keen competition still prevails. The Japanese were most prominent with fair support from the Continent and Yorkshire.
