DARING BURGLARY

WELLINGTON THEATRE. CASH. CHOCOLATES AND CIGARETTES TAKEN. (Per United Press Association.) Wellington. August 10. Taking the risk of being detected from the street by a policeman or a passer-by, thieves carried out a daring burglary at the Plaza Theatre in Manners street on Thursday night. Climbing to the top of the sweet counter in the foyer they forced up a steel grill and made away with £8 12/3 in cash and a quantity of chocolates and cigarettes. No attempt was made to break into the manager's office. A large showcase which was directly in line with the glass doors leading to the street was forced open and a large quantity of lingerie taken.
