HOCKEY TOURISTS METROPOLITAN TEAM DEFEATED FINAL MATCH (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 6.30 p.m.) Sydney, August 11. Playing their last match in Australia, the New Zealand women’s hockey team brilliantly defeated a Metropolitan team by 4 goals to 1 after the score had been one all at half-time. The New Zealand team was: Mrs O’Connor; Misses McDonald, Woolley; Mackie, Sanson, Hansen; Saville, McKenzie, Mrs Reid, Misses Dahlberg, Cotter.
With pretty short passing movements, the New Zealanders kept the city team on the defensive throughout the second half.
Mrs Reid scored one goal and Miss Cotter three.
