CHARGE AGAINST DOCTOR’S WIFE. CROWN DROPS PROSECUTION. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) Melbourne, August 8. The Crown entered a nolle prosequi in the case of Mrs Edna Patton. Mrs Edna Eula Patton was committed for trial on July 11 on 13 charges of having converted to her own use money while president of the Caulfield Ladies’ Benevolent Society. Mrs Patton, who is the wife of Dr R. "T. Patton, of Melbourne University, denied all the charges. She said in evidence that she considered the prosecution was spiteful. She never retained any money from the society.
