Social Evening

, On Thursday evening Mr R. W. Arnold (acting superintendent of the . Borstal) and Mrs Arnold and the of- , ficers and their friends, numbering one hundred and forty, met in a social capacity in the Federal tea rooms. Mr H. Anthony acted as M.C. and ■ an orchestra under Mr Gordon Lindsay supplied the music. Extras were played by Mrs R. Stead (piano), Mr R. Stead (violin) and Mr H. Prouse (trumpet). At supper Mr Arnold extended a welcome to the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs John Miller), to Mr and Mrs James Hargest and to all the guests. He also expressed appreci- ■ ation of the work of the ladies of the Social Committee. The Mayor replied on behalf of the guests. Those present were: Mr and Mrs R. W.
