“Becky Sharp"
“Becky Sharp,” RKO-Radio’s first full-length technicolour -film, starring Miriam Hopkins, is an adaptation of the Langdon Mitchell play of the same name, which was an adaptation of Thackeray’s famous novel “Vanity Fair,” which was first published in serial form in Punch. In 1848 it was published as a novel in London. The play was produced for the first time by Minnie Maddern Fiske in 1899. Other dramatists tried their hands with the Thackeray masterpiece, but the Mitchell adaptation was the only sue cessful dramatic version.
