WOMEN’S DIVISION

WAIMAHAKA BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the Waimahaka branch of the W.D.F.U. was held in the Waimahaka Social Hall on July 20. Mrs D. Dunlop presided over a fair attendance. The roll call, “The sweetest sound you have ever heard,” was well responded to. Miss J. Dunlop gave an interesting report on the educational week. Mrs Thompson then gave a demonstration on the making of crochet rag mats, which proved most interesting and was closely followed by all present. Mrs W. S. Andrews moved a hearty vote of thanks to Mrs Thompson. The bed rug was won by Mr D. Dunlop, of Pine Bush. The meeting was brought to a close with the serving of supper.
