OFFICIAL COUNT
AUCKLAND TRANSPORT BOARD ELECTION. RESULT DECLARED. (Per United Press Association.) Auckland, June 4. After four weeks of intensive investigation into the possibilities of plural voting necessitated by the closeness of the polling in the Auckland City constituency, the result of the Auckland Transport Board election was finally declared to-night.-The official count placed Mr F. E. Lark, Labour candidate, in fifth place in the Auckland City list, while Mr J. A. C. Allum, the present chairman, is in sixth place. The city is entitled to return six members in a board of ten. The Hon. T. Bloodworth, M.L.C., who was fifth in the provisional count, has dropped from fifth to seventh place, seven votes behind Mr Allum. It was stated that the official count had revealed about 275 plural votes. In many quarters dissatisfaction has been expressed with the poll and there is still a likelihood of an appeal for a fresh election. As a result of the official count, the Labour Party has a majority of seven to three §n tii§ BSaftli
