EXCITING EXPERIENCE
WHIRLWIND AT METHVEN. (Per United Press Association.) Ashburton, May 2. Methven experienced a whirlwind at 7.45 o’clock last evening. A third of the roof of Newman’s stables and a shop verandah were demolished, while an iron shed was lifted bodily, narrowly missing a motor car travelling on the road. The windows in several premises were broken by stones.
