NAZI GUARDS'

MURDER OF PRISONER NEWS SUPPRESSED IN GERMANY “ESCAPE ATTEMPTED” (United Press Assn—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rea. 9.20 p.m.) London, April 23. The Brussels correspondent of the Daily Herald says that news has been received that Fritz Husemann, ex-pre-sident of the Miners’ Federation, has been murdered by Nazi guards at Papenburg concentration camp, the usual pretext for the murder being “attempting to escape.” The news was suppressed in Germany, but there was intense resentment among the mining population of the Ruhr. Husemann’s recent imprisonment was due to attempting to obtain compensation for members of the Miners’ Federation whom Hitlerites dismissed.
