ARMS MANUFACTURE
DISCUSSION AT GENEVA. (United Press Assn-—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) Geneva, February 14. Discussions on disarmament were resumed after the recess when the committee on trade in and manufacture of arms as a basis of discussion adopted an American draft convention giving the governments full control of the private manufacture and trade in arms in their own countries. DESIRE FOR PEACE GERMANY’S ATTITUDE. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 10.55 p.m.) London, February 15. The Berlin correspondent of the News-Chronicle says that a semiofficial statement declares that Germany’s reply to the Anglo-French proposals shows that Germany adopts a “positive attitude” to the efforts to prevent an armaments race and banish all danger of war. It emphasizes Germany’s desire for peace and pays a warm tribute to Britain’s endeavours to achieve a settlement.
