CHILD EMIGRATION

GOOD RESPONSE FOR FUNDS.

(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7 p.m.) London, February 14. As a result of an appeal by the Prince of Wales a fund reached £60,000 from which the Child Emigration Society purchased a thousand acres on Vancouver Island and established a Fairbridge farm school similar to that in Western Australia. It is stated that child emigration is the only form of organized settlement in the dominions which has survived the recent difficult years. The Australian Press Association understands that the Child Emigration Society is contemplating the establishment of two more new schools, probably in Queensland and New Zealand.
