Some of the contents of a recent bulletin on hydatids issued by the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce may possibly be used as the basis of instruction for school children. The chamber forwarded copies of the bulletin to the Health Department and to the Education Department, mainly for the reason that it contained references to the disease of hydatids among human beings, which might be useful to the departments, and the secretary (Mr J. Roy Smith) has now received a reply from the Minister for Education (the Hon. S. G. Smith) stating that' his department is consulting with the Director of School Hygiene with a view to such action as may be most effective on the lines of the suggestions made by the chamber.
