GORE CLUB. FEBRUARY MEDAL MATCH. More than 40 players competed in the Gore Golf Club’s February medal match on Thursday night. “ Conditions were excellent, and some good cards were returned, no fewer than six men and one lady returning scores _ below their handicaps. The winners in both, sections had net scores of five less than bogey. Mrs D. Reid, the winner of the ladies’ section, played the second hole in one in the first round. " The best scores were: —
< BRITISH LADIES’ TEAM. VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) London, February 14. The Ladies’ Golf Union emphasizes that the players invited for the Australian and New Zealand tours will be reduced to five before their departure. Those selected at present are the most prominent internationals, but more may be considered if they reyeal form in the coming fixtures, particularly in the open championship. The team will leave on July 12 and arrive at Fremantle on August 13. It will spend six weeks in Australia and three weeks in New Zealand.
