AIR SERVICES

AN AUCKLAND PROTEST.

(Per United Press Association.)

Auckland, February 14.

The proposal of the Transport Coordination Board to grant a license for trunk air services between Palmerston North and Dunedin, thus leaving Auckland and the other northern centres to be served by feeder lines, was strongly condemned by the City Council and it was decided to ask the board to take evidence in Auckland before coming to a final decision. It was stated that night flying would not be involved by the longer air trip as a modem machine could easily make the journey from Auckland to Invercargill in daylight.
