SIR MALCOLM CAMPBELL’S BID.

BEACH SUITABLE NEXT MONTH.

(United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 8.10 p.m.) London, January 23. Sir Malcolm Campbell sails by the Aquitania to-day, accompanied by five mechanics. Also with him are Lady Campbell and their 11-year-old daughter Jean, who decided at the last minute to watch the 300 miles per hour bid. Sir Malcolm intends to attempt the record on February 19, when Daytona is expected to be most smooth. The equipment included a spare engine and 500 gallons of petrol. Sir Malcolm will wear a crash helmet in order to prevent injury due to increased acceleration and braking.
