SALVAGED CARGO
NOTES PUT INTO CIRCULATION. (United Press Assn.—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 5.5 p.m.) London, January 22. The Daily Express says it was recently discovered that £500,000 worth of rupee notes are circulating on the Continent. Inquiry showed that these were salvaged from the Egypt. How the notes came to be circulated is still undiscovered. The owner Sj cf the salvage ship, Artiglio 11., lodged a claim in Milan for £500,000 from the underwriters, who paid for the gold and silver salvaged, but refuse to pay for the rupee notes.
