NEW SENATE

NAZI PROPOSAL

FORM OF ANCIENT ROMAN SYSTEM

“HITLER MORE CAESARLIKE”

(United Press Assn-—Telegraph Copyright.) (Rec. 7.40 p.m.) London, January 20. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Chronicle says that, inspired by the ancient Roman system, the Nazi chiefs are completing a new form of government whereby a Senate, comprising 60 exclusively Nazi members, will replace the discredited Reichstag, Herr Hitler becoming more Caesar-like than ever. One of the first tasks of the Senate, which is meeting at the Munich Brown House, will be the appointment of Hitler’s deputy, for which several hostile candidates are competing. Baron von Neurath, not being a Nazi, was excluded from the Senate, which is being inaugurated about June when the present constitution will be replaced by one in which Germany will be divided into 2C districts, each having a Nazi governor.
