CAMPBELL ISLANDS

SHEARING OF SHEEP. (Per United Press Association.) Christchurch, December 21. The expedition to the Campbell Islands to shear sheep left there three years ago when the holding was evacuated under instructions from the mortgagees, will probably' be proceeded with. A telegram from Dunedin on Wednesday announced that the mortgagees had given no authority to anyone to interfere with the stock, but Mr H. Brown, Cheviot, organizer of the expedition, has received a message from Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., who are acting for the mortgagees, stating it will be necessary for Mr Brown to arrange an agreement in Dunedin before leaving. It is not yet known when the expedition will leave. The boat has been launched and trial runs with the engine have proved satisfactory.
